Personal Hand, End of the Year Artwork

waving goodbye to the school year, hello summer! 

Personal HAND artproject, ,

The older classes, young teens SpcialEd, made a collage, using precut circle for the background.

his background was so well done that I encouraged

 him to glue the hand on the left of the background.

 

The younger group, 2nd grade special education,  worked with crayon only on large color paper.

They waited patiently for me to draw around their hands and then colored in and around the hand shape. This made it very personal drawing

  

 

Personal Art PaperBag Profolio, Special Ed School

 At the end of last year each student went home with a beautiful colorful paperbag portfolio

They worked on a 1/2 of a cardboard

I went around the table and gave each student (special Education) one at a time strips of masking tape, about 10 striped, 10 to 14 c"m long.

They pressed it on the board to form a design.
 

- first they colored with pastels
- then with gauche paint

...even when painted in one color, the masking tape form a lovely texture.

 

I cut their art work in half and glued it to the paperbag

Foliage Collage and Color Tissue Paper, Henri Matisse

Insired by 'Tree of Life' Stained Glass by Henri Matisse

Using full sheet of semi transparent sandwich paper, glueing leaves and color tissue paper folding in the middle and adding stick for hanging.

Same as we did "Holiday Light, Inspired by Chihuly" artproject , here wool and color tissue paper are glued in side , pressed on a bowl to form a candle holder for the holiday.

.

This is how it lookes when the glue is still wet before forming shape.

I image that using transparent paper would be even more exciting .

School Display Board

Last year part of my job was designing and illustrating the majoy displayboards in the public special ed. school where I taught.

                                           another display board with the theme "I Am" 

 Above is a small "Welcome" board. 

Below was based for the schoolyear's theme a "Healthy Way of Living"

"health diet", "being a friend", "personal hygiene", "being fit" and  "me and my enviroment". 

A  small sign language card was displayed by each illustrations 

Design PaperBag as ArtBag

both side of the bag are half the artwork done with: masking tape, pastels and paint on a lage 35X50Cm sheet. You can see the effect of the masking tape on the closeup photo below. They loved creating the masking tape design. Beautiful!

Picasso- recycle postcard

 

Using a Picasso  postcard booklet that was fallng apart .

They choose the postcard they liked.

I helped them match colors to work with.

above N, 10 years old  loves horses. I was pleased to find this Picasso postcard and N did this lovely artwork.

Spring a perfect time to hike around and see nature,  with reuse maps my disable teen students made their personal map.
